I would like to thank Nexus for one more time for giving us the opportunity to make the first worldwide review of the newly released WaveAir.

Nexus is well known for its quality and silent solutions. The newly released WaveAir is a revolutionary air extraction system for the pc.

Wave Air 1

It is an 8cm fan, with a special casing that can fit onto a pci slot and extract, or blow air according to the position of the fan.

Let's see the specifications!

Taken from Nexus website

Package is nice, with transparent window to see the WaveAir.

Front

Side

Rear

We can see what's inside the package

Included

The main part, it is made of black plastic and it is very durable.

The cap has some large holes to allow for better ventilation and it also has the Nexus logo on the center.

The Nexus 8cm fan,it is really silent.I measured it at 12Db from 20cm distance.

Installing WaveAir is really simple, just place the fan with the direction needed(extract or blow air)

Then we place the pci adaptor to the case

And it locks secure with a gentle push

It is pretty bulky but it doesn't interfere with anything!

Performance

In order to test if it actually performs I measured the temp of the vga ram heatsinks with a laser thermometer. With WaveAir there was an astonishing 8 degree drop in the temperature! The advantage when compared with other extractors is the silence, and also it doesn't consume any space at all from the inside of the case,it is all from the outer side.

Noise

It has noise levels of only 12Db from 20cm away from the fan, the same as a silent 12cm fan.

The only negative is that it is bulky from the outside, and the difficulty to be removed.

With an MSRP ~12 euros I would say that it is very competitive!

Positive

+Improves cooling/air flow
+Silent

Negative

-Bulky
-Difficult to be removed
